Superior filtration

Our unique TriFoamTM system with three layers of foam combined with the arresting stickiness of the dust retaining oil gives a high level of filtration to protect the engine from all contaminants brought in by the air.

Better economy

You can be assured of better fuel economy due to the larger volume and more consistent flow of air into your engine. As a result, smaller throttle openings will achieve the same performance.

More power

Performance is unaffected by very large quantities of dirt arrested in the filter and, long after ordinary filters have blocked up and reduced the engine power, loss of pressure in the Profilter airflow will be exceptionally low.

Longer life

In normal road use, a Profilter will last at least 5 times as long as the equivalent standard filter.Waste is reduced so Profilter helps the environment as well as the engine.

Cleaning

All our Profilter range can be washed and re-oiled with our filter maintenance kit.

ITG were probably the first company to manufacture a truly durable, high performance foam-based production air filter.

Why foam?

Because, compared to paper or other filter technologies, reticulated polyurethane foam achieves optimum performance against three key criteria:

1. Maximum Air Flow – the ability to allow air to pass through without causing a large drop in pressure.

2. Cleaning Efficiency – the ability of the filter to remove dust and contaminents from the airflow.

3. Dust Load-up Tolerance – the capability to absorb a large amount of dust before cleaning or replacement is required.

With our unique TriFoamTM System, which uses various thicknesses of finer or coarser foams, these factors can be varied for different applications. TriFoamTM gives us the flexibility to produce air filters to exact customer specifications.We can tailor the dust filtering capability to well below 5 microns for roller barrel throttles, superchargers and cabin filters.

Compared to other filter media, ITG foam filters offer many additional advantages, including a significant reduction in weight while providing more power for longer. What’s more, because we use the very latest adhesive technology to bond the foam layers, ITG filter assemblies are resistant to water, fumes, oils and fuels.

Superior Filtration

Results from tests performed at the Motor Industry Research Association (MIRA) show that against leading paper element and cotton gauze filters, ITG foam filters outperform all competitors for low pressure drop (mbar) versus dust loading (grams). Typically, ITG air filters can hold 5 times the quantity of dust than an equivalent paper or cotton gauze air filter, giving better airflow over a much longer time. Our unique TriFoamTM system, with 3 layers of differing porosity foams, combined with dust retaining oil, give a high level of filtration to protect the engine from wear due to dust inhalation. More Power for longer

Pleated paper, synthetic polyester fibre and cotton gauze air filters give good flow rates from new at the expense of clogging up quickly, causing a gradual loss of power over time. ITG foam air filters can hold the same performance levels from new with 5 times the quantity of dust than other media. This means more power for longer and less maintenance.

Longer Life

All ITG air filters are washable and reusable, and can last up to 15 years when oiled and maintained in line with instructions. Better for you – better for the environment.

1) Durable rubber seal
Engineered to fit tightly against the foam sleeve, this seal creates a dust-free sealing solution.

2) Stainless steel wire mesh
To avoid erosion, we only use the highest quality stainless steel.

3) Coarse outer layer
Stops large pieces of dirt and foreign matter from penetrating further. Straightens air flow into subsequent layers.

4) Medium grade middle layer
Serious filtration layer traps most of the harmful dirt that leads to engine failure and damage.

5) Fine inner layer
Extracts all the fine particles but still allows full clean air flow to the engine for maximum power.
